Dear Everybody,
Thank you for finding your way here to my website. The fact that you have means that either we are already dear friends for whom I’m grateful in a million ways or that I don’t yet know you but am grateful to you for being curious.
This letter is to announce a bittersweet--like the most delicious dark chocolate--change. Josh and I have returned to my home of Charleston, SC where we are happy to be within arms’ reach of family and an easy (flat!) pedal to the Atlantic. For us, this means hugging parents daily, enjoying seafood weekly (or more!), and burning up I-26W for Asheville monthly for our much-needed dose of WNC.
During this next year while Josh and I are getting re-settled in our new-old town, I’m going to take some time away from painting. I’m excited to take my time finding the perfect low country studio and a home to call our own. All the while, I’ll be photographing and sketching the glorious native flora-- Black Eyed Susans, Geraniums, Palmettos-- and fauna-- Palmetto Bugs (I did not miss those!) and Blue Crabs-- in this rich, peachy golden coastal light. I can’t wait.
By next March, I’ll be about to pop from all the inspiration! And by then, hopefully I’ll be situated in a happy studio with lots of room for new work and visitors. I’ll be sure to send out my new address to all of you in the hopes that you’ll head Southeast for a visit.
I’ve got some exciting shows back in Asheville planned for 2009, and I’d be thrilled if you could make it to their openings.
Affectionately, and gratefully,
Meg
